Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience in marine/offshore industry with structure newbuilding engineering design.
• Thorough comprehension of load application and structural analysis.
• Experience guiding team on structural calculations.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural design to comply with Class and Technical specifications.
• Plan project manpower loading and schedules.
• Oversee projects and implement risk management.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society on project concerns.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Independently develop structural design to comply with Class and Technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.
• Plan project manpower loading and prepares job schedule for the team.
• Provide an ideal arrangement and level of detail for team’s output, accountable for providing the relevant project design document and drawing in accordance with the project timeline.
• Oversee respective projects handled by project leads, and technical problems and implement risk management as needed.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for high level concerns related to project.
• Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
• A thorough comprehension of load application and structural analysis to provide necessary guidance to analyst.
• Final review of team members drawings, calculations or documents prior submission.
• Guide subordinate on structural calculations (including rudders).
• Recommends optimized arrangement & detail structure concept.
• Prepares sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material/construction, rudder, etc.).
• Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed.

Requirements

• Degree in relevant discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience in the marine / offshore industry with Structure newbuilding engineering design.
• Familiar with AutoCAD / Microsoft Office / Tribon / AVEVA / FEMAP.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
