A leading strategic consulting firm in Singapore is seeking a Manager (Strategy & Planning) to provide strategic support to senior leadership. This role involves responsibilities such as managing public relations and branding strategies, coordinating operational excellence projects, and participating in the execution of long-term corporate strategies. Ideal candidates have a degree in Business, relevant experience in commodity trading, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Manager (Strategy & Planning)

SUMMARY

The position provides strategic and operational support to senior leadership, ensuring organizational alignment with long‑term objectives. Key responsibilities include cross‑functional coordination, stakeholder engagement, and oversight of external communications, branding, and public relations. The role also supports enterprise‑wide initiatives and government liaison efforts to enhance organizational capabilities. It reports to the Chief Strategy Officer for strategy and management cycle activities, and to the Head of Operational Excellence & Transformation for all other functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute group’s annual management cycle (20%)
  • Schedule and facilitate management meetings such as board of director’s meeting, Executive Management Committee (EXECO) and other ad‑hoc management meeting if any.

  • Ensure proper records and minutes of meetings (in above) are drafted, maintained and distributed in accurate and timely manner.

  • Conduct initial profit plan setting and quarterly budget update based on discussion and mutual understanding between the Commodity Divisions and management.

  • Conduct and facilitate KPI setting and 1H/full year review of each commodity and corporate division.

  • Provide support for corporate matters, subscriptions as and when required.

Manage Public Relations and Branding Strategy (15%)
  • Support in formulation of Public Relations/Branding strategy to expand outreach and industry footprint.

  • Communicate with commercial teams to understand any Public Relations and brand‑enhancing strategy and requirements.

  • Support and provide guidance (e.g., policies, approvals, etc,) to commercial or corporate teams for Public Relations/ advertising activities if necessary.

  • As part of internal branding activity, coordinate Town Hall Meeting or other events if necessary and support CEO (or any EXECO member, as required) in message deliveries to global employees.

  • To create, manage and maintain Public Relations materials, such as Company introduction pack, logo goods, website management in line with company Public Relations and branding strategy.

  • To support and facilitate CSR activities as part of effort to enhance organization’s Public Relations presence.

Operational Excellence and Transformation Support (40%)
  • To support in the initiatives and projects for Operational Excellence and Transformation, in relation to strategic partnerships:

  • Responsible to coordinate and manage all GTP related matters including application and annual monitoring of qualitative and qualitative requirements and providing support to functions to meet those targets.

  • Prepare and submit related documentation to ES on a timely manner; annual surveys, annual target updates and other necessary documents related to Global Trader Program.

  • Coordinate and maintain interaction with EnterpriseSG (and other agencies as required) for organization‑wide initiatives.

  • Enhancement of organizational capabilities for future‑readiness and operational excellence.

  • Strategic enablement of activities to unlock values, deploy solutions and support transitions.

  • Support change management and organization renewal efforts.

Support the formulation and execution of long‑term strategy (15%)
  • Participate in the discussion, design and execution of long‑term corporate strategy and each year’s management plan.

  • Assist in review of long‑term goals for performance and growth.

  • Support the establishment of policies that promote the company’s culture.

  • Work with relevant departments to help build strategic programs to attract, retain and develop talents on a global basis.

  • Keep abreast of development and key issues relevant for each of the divisions/departments, maintain control on a diverse range of functions/commodities across locations and ensure the company and its stakeholders are on course.

Others (10%)
  • Tasks as assigned by Chief Strategy Officer and/or Head of Operation Excellence & Transformation.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Business or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Relevant experience in commodity trading and a strong understanding of trade flows

  • Demonstrated high ethical standards and a strong awareness of compliance requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with experience in organizational development

  • Strong strategic thinking and business planning capabilities.

  • Balanced analytical and emotional intelligence to support sound decision‑making and relationship management
