Job summary

A strategic government initiative partner in Singapore is seeking a skilled machinist to operate conventional machining equipment in the aviation sector. Responsibilities include performing dimensional and clearance checks, interpreting technical drawings, and inspecting work for specifications. Candidates must possess at least GCE 'O' level or equivalent along with experience in the aircraft engine industry. This role supports a rotating shift schedule and contributes to the enhancement of Singapore's Precision Engineering landscape.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Aircraft Engine Industry required.
  • Able to work weekly rotating shift.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate various conventional machining equipment, such as manual lathe, bores, milling machine and EDM
  • Perform machining dimensional fits & clearance checks per OEM technical manuals (CIR, MM, SPM).
  • Perform various bench repair works such as blending, inserts & broken stud replacement.
  • Interpret machining dimensions & understand the requirements from technical drawings
  • Inspect work using conventional measuring instruments such as Micrometer, Vernier Caliper and Dial Indicator to verify conformance to specifications
  • Assist line supervisor in their daily operations to achieve production targets, corporate goals and discipline
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by Workshop Engineer/Manager
Job Requirements
  • At least GCE ‘O’/’N’ level or equivalent with NITEC in Precision/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior experience in Aircraft Engine Industry required
  • Able to work weekly rotating shift
  • Machinist with conventional machining experience in the aviation industry is advantageous
