The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing export control, procurement coordination, warehouse management, and logistics operations to support the company’s Sales and Service activities.
Reporting into Corporate, this role ensures compliant, efficient, and well-controlled movement of goods, accurate procurement execution, and effective warehouse operations, while enabling Business Divisions to meet customer delivery, installation, and service commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Export Control & Trade Compliance
- Own and manage export control and trade compliance processes in accordance with company and Canon Group policies, applicable international trade regulations, and local customs and import/export requirements.
- Ensure proper classification, screening, documentation, and record-keeping for controlled items.
- Act as the key point of contact for internal audits, HQ reviews, and regulatory matters related to export control.
Procurement Operations Support
- Coordinate procurement activities to support Sales and Service operations, including purchase order processing and tracking, supplier coordination and delivery follow-up, and alignment of procurement timelines with operational needs.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with approval matrices, budget controls, and internal governance.
- Work closely with Finance and Business Divisions to resolve procurement and delivery issues.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations covering receiving, storage, and issuance of equipment and spare parts.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, traceability, and stock integrity, handling serialized, regulated, and controlled items.
- Monitor inventory levels, aging, and movement to support sales deliveries and installations and service spare parts readiness.
- Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities.
Logistics Operations (Sales & Service Support)
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics for sales equipment deliveries and installations, and service spare parts, repairs, and warranty returns.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, couriers, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with shipping and customs requirements.
- Support urgent service cases by prioritising parts dispatch where required.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Governance
- Act as a central coordination point between Corporate functions (Finance, Compliance, Procurement), Business Divisions (Sales and Service), and Regional / HQ Supply Chain and Compliance teams.
- Ensure clear process ownership and adherence to defined RACI across logistics-related activities.
- Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Risk Management, Controls & Documentation
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability for logistics, procurement, and inventory transactions.
- Maintain segregation of duties and compliance with internal control requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to logistics, trade compliance, and inventory management.
Reporting & Operational KPIs
- Track and report key logistics and operations KPIs, including delivery lead times, inventory accuracy and turnover, and export control clearance and compliance status.
- Provide regular operational updates to Corporate and Business Division stakeholders.
