Job description

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of architectural design & construction methods, principles & procedures and apply them to all areas of work on all projects;
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the characteristics of Light, ie. Luminance; Illuminance; Flux; Colour Rendering; Colour Appearance; Glare etc;
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the behavioural aspects of Light in the architectural context;
• Develop & demonstrate a clear understanding of DP Lighting Team’s lighting design principles & lighting techniques and documentation standards and apply to all areas of work;
• Develop & demonstrate a high willingness & ability to multi-task across all DP Lighting Team projects and to work equally with & assist colleagues as a coherent team including the sharing of all projectinformation within DP Lighting Team’s egalitarian environment;
• Apply that ability & knowledge to fully and clearly understand the direction from the DP Lighting Team principal in realising the architects / clients design vision on every project;
• Administer Project Folder creation including creation of Project Logs; Project Document & Issuance Register;
• Manage all project administration including correspondence filing / e-filing etc on a day-by-day basis;
• Be responsible for time management in relation to project deadlines; deliverables; meeting scheduling etc;
• To attend design workshops/meetings with Senior Lighting Designers;
• Carry out lighting calculations manually and on DiaLux and AGI software whichever is appropriate;
• Manage and update DP Lighting Team’s appointments diary with all other staff;
• Manage and continually update DP Lighting Team’s product & technical library with all other staff;
• Continually develop & enhance professional knowledge of new lamp, lighting & control technologies.

Requirements

• Degree/Masters in Lighting/Architecture/Interior Design/Product Design;
• Minimum 1 – 4 years of lighting design/Architecture/Interior Design experience;
• Strong design detailing with superior knowledge of materials and technical requirements;
• Superior graphic and oral presentation skills;
• Good technical hand drawing skills shall be considered an advantage;
• Highly skilled with the following software tools: Revit, Rhino, DiaLux, AGI, Adobe Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop Suite, AfterEffects, Navis, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD.
