Job description

• Planning: Create a safe system of work and a detailed lifting plan.
• Risk assessment: Identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
• Briefing: Inform the lifting team (crane operators, riggers, signalmen) about the plan, procedures, and safety precautions.
• Equipment and personnel: Ensure only registered operators and appointed riggers/signalmen are involved and that the correct equipment for the load is selected and inspected.
• Site and ground conditions: Verify that the ground is safe for the lifting equipment and that the area is clear of obstructions.

During-operation responsibilities

• Supervision: Be present during the entire operation to provide continuous oversight.
• Monitoring: Monitor the lift's progress and ensure it proceeds according to the plan.
• Intervention: Take immediate action to correct any unsafe conditions that arise.
• Inspection: Conduct a post-lift inspection of the equipment to check for any damage.
• Reporting: Document any incidents and report them as required.
• Coordination: Coordinate any necessary maintenance or follow-up actions.
• Driving company vehicle or fery company worker.
