The ideal candidate will hold a Juris Doctorate or equivalent, with 1-4 years of experience in legal roles. Roles & Responsibilities

Provides legal support and advice under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Counsel, Asia Pacific of the Company regarding legal matters within the Asia Pacific regions where the Company operates.

Essential Functions Performed
  • lntercompany Agreements : Coordinate establishment of legal entities, prepare intercompany agreements for transfer of IP ownership, licensing agreements and company cost-sharing arrangements.
  • Transactional Support : Advise business team on legal aspects of business transactions, including transaction structure, terms and conditions.
  • Labor and Employment Support : provide support for labor and employment issues.
  • Transactional Agreements : Prepare and negotiate wide range of transactional agreements and documentation relating to business activities, including sales & distribution, clinical trials, consulting, supply & purchasing agreements, tender documentation, real estate and template documentation.
  • Governmental Relations : assist with governmental and regulatory matters relating to the operation of the Company's business. Emphasize and demonstrate operational excellence and a balanced risk-taking approach.
  • Data Privacy : maintain and coordinate, in coordination with the data privacy council, the requirements of data privacy.
  • Supervision of External Counsel : Supervise and coordinate activities of external counsel retained by the Company in connection with legal matters and transactions.
  • Processes and internal controls : Engage proactively and advise colleagues on the prioritization of risks and identify, monitor and improve key processes and internal controls.
  • General Knowledge : Maintain familiarity with legal issues and developments relating to the Company's operations in Asia Pacific, including product liability, healthcare law, corporate law, regulatory compliance, employment, and litigation. Work on the smallest and simplest, as well as the most complex, legal matters faced by the Company.
  • General Company projects : Support general legal operations, including drafting and reviewing of policies and procedures, and regularly engaging with the broader global Legal team at regular meetings as well as in relation to regional legal projects.
Summary Of Minimum Qualifications
  • Position requires a Juris Doctorate degree, LLB or an equivalent law degree
  • 1-4 years of post qualification experience.
  • Must be able to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Ability to prioritize and work independently is essential.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to appreciate and work with many different stakeholders from various cultural backgrounds worldwide.
  • Ability to multi-task and apply technical and commercial concepts to diverse situations; ability to apply legal principles and requirements to a wide variety of fact patterns.
  • Organized, detail and solution oriented, with a high degree of professionalism and standard on output.
  • Non-negotiable - high degree of ethics and integrity.
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in an additional language other than English is highly favored.
  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
