Job summary

A leading oil and gas trading firm in Singapore is seeking a legal professional to provide guidance on maritime issues and international trade regulations. The role involves supporting Trading businesses with contracts and compliance, negotiating disputes, and staying updated on legal changes. The ideal candidate has a strong background in international trade and maritime law, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and at least three years of legal experience.

Qualifications

• Possess a good LLB degree from a recognized university.
• Min 3 years of legal experience.
• Post-Qualified Experience with a litigation background is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of trade & shipping law will be an added advantage.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.

Job Overview

This role is responsible for providing legal guidance on maritime issues. shipping contracts, international trade regulations with a focus on the trading of oil and gas commodities. You will work closely with internal teams across legal, operations, and commercial departments to ensure compliance with international laws and optimize risk management strategies for global trade activities.

The ideal candidate is familiar with international trade law, maritime law, with good experience in advising on shipping contracts and trade regulations in the commodity trading sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, handling complex legal challenges related to shipping and trade.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide legal services and support to Trading businesses.
• Prepare, review and advise on contracts and other legal matters, as required.
• Negotiate and resolve disputes in relation to Trading and other businesses.
• Maintain compliance with laws and internal regulations with regards to Trading and other businesses.
• Monitor and keep abreast of any changes in the law and advise the Management on the impact of such on the business and operations, recommend strategies and solutions for compliance when necessary.

Job Requirements
