What the role is:

The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore. The HTxAI Products team is committed to empower our Home Team Department (HTD)'s flagship projects through the seamless integration of AI technologies. From identifying opportunities to delivery, launch, and continuous enhancement, HTxAI aims to push boundaries and set new standards in homeland security. As a Lead Engineer in HTxAI, you will be part of a dynamic team that designs and develops AI‑related solutions for Home Team use cases. We are looking for highly motivated candidates to join our team and help grow our range of in‑house AI digital products. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to guide the products through their entire lifecycle, from ideation to launch, and ensure ongoing improvements. In addition, the Product Designer will play a crucial role in fostering a product‑focused development culture within the HTX.

What you will be working on:
  • Design user‑centered interfaces that meet the needs of users and the organization's business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure that the design is aligned with the product vision and technical requirements.
  • Iterate and test designs to ensure that they are meeting the needs of users.
  • Conduct user research to gather insights and feedback, and translate those findings into actionable backlogs to improve the overall user experience and design for our products.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate design concepts to stakeholders and development teams.
  • Implement and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency across all internal products and platforms.
  • Provide guidance on UI/UX related queries.
  • Work closely with the product manager and solution and design team to ensure that the products are effectively promoted and communicated to users.
  • Continuously track and analyze user behavior and feedback to identify areas for improvement and growth.
  • Support DD/Head Product management in planning and executing product roadmaps.
  • Support training on product management relating to UI/UX.
What we are looking for:
  • Postgraduate / Tertiary qualification in design or related field.
  • Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in UI/UX design.
  • Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates experience designing interfaces for digital products.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch and Figma etc.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Good to have experience in AI‑related technologies, AI/ML, Data Science and Data Analytics.
  • Interested in innovation and keeping abreast with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Customer‑centric mindset with passion to build great products.
  • Strong leadership skill and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Having domain knowledge in Homeland Security sector will be an added bonus.
  • Applicants with more than 5 years’ relevant experience will be considered for more senior positions.

All new hires are appointed on a two‑year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
