Job summary

A leading government agency in Singapore is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to enhance data quality and reliability across the organization. The ideal candidate will support the data governance framework and collaborate with business units to define data standards. A tertiary qualification in Data Science or related fields, along with 2-5 years of relevant experience, is preferred. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills will be crucial. This role is contracted for two years initially, with the possibility for permanent tenure based on performance.

Job description

What the role is:

The position will support our data governance and data capabilities initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability across the organization, while also contributing to the design, implementation, and optimization of data products and solution.

What you will be working on:

• Support and contribute to the implementation and management of data governance framework, including data standards, policies, and data quality rules.
• Collaborate with business units to define data definitions, catalogue, master records, and data architecture to build data use cases.
• Recommend technical design of models including building, operationalising and refining data models and AI models to automate flow of insights/actions.
• Work closely with vendors to design scalable data warehouse solutions that meet reporting and analytics needs.
• Deploy within in-house development teams as data subject matter expert to build data pipelines, transform data into usable formats, develop data products, and implement new data capabilities.

What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Preferably 2 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or data warehousing roles
• Familiarity with data governance principles and frameworks
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, tools, and processes
• Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
