Job description
Overview

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of? Coinbase’s mission is to increase economic freedom in the world by building the emerging onchain platform and the future global financial system. We’re seeking a candidate who is passionate about our mission, believes in crypto and blockchain technology, and wants to leave a mark by solving hard problems with high-caliber colleagues. Our work culture is intense and collaborative, with in-person participation required throughout the year for team and company events.

Role

The CX Compliance team ensures global Compliance Operations run smoothly, adhere to regulatory standards, and deliver high-quality outcomes. As a Lead Analyst, Compliance TMS Operations, you will own end-to-end Transaction Monitoring investigations, including drafting and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). This role requires quality control and proactive collaboration with stakeholders across the Financial Crime Risk service line and support teams, balancing high-volume work with meticulous attention to detail. You will operate with minimal supervision, prioritize effectively, collaborate cross-functionally, and remain open to feedback to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What you’ll be doing
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial services, crypto, investigations, legal, or the tech industry, with a focus on TMS, compliance, or regulatory matters.
  • Experience drafting suspicious transaction reports in the format provided by the Singapore Police Force and filing them on the SONAR portal.
  • Identify red flag indicators and populate them correctly in the STR files.
  • Conduct investigative review and analysis to support AML regulatory compliance policies, including investigating automated alerts from transaction monitoring systems and referrals from law enforcement requests and other business lines.
  • Analyze transaction activity and KYC information; conduct due diligence research; interpret evidence from external tools to determine legitimacy of customer behavior across multiple products.
  • Document investigations in written narratives and decide whether activity warrants escalation and potential filing of a SAR.
  • Incorporate feedback from the Quality Assurance Team and maintain detailed documentation to demonstrate regulatory and internal policy compliance.
  • Remain current with industry standards in KYC, BSA/AML, and OFAC, applying regulatory requirements to case investigations.
  • Review data from systems and Coinbase procedures to investigate, decide, and document transaction monitoring alerts.
What we look for in you
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Excel, and related productivity tools.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment.
  • Organized with a high level of attention to detail.
Nice to have
  • Professional AML or Fraud certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFCS, CFE).
  • Experience in project management, analytics, or vendor management.
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, or customer experience (CX).
  • Proficiency with Google apps, JIRA, Hummingbird, and Salesforce Service Cloud.
  • Experience collaborating with external outsource partners.
