Job Summary
This position is responsible for conducting laboratory testing and analysis to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance with the standard and Customer requirement. This role involves performing of performance test, chemical, physical, and microbiological tests on water samples and maintaining laboratory equipment, documenting results, and supporting process optimization and regulatory compliance. The Lab Technician collaborates closely with Global lab team, engineers and quality teams to provide accurate data of testing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Laboratory Tests - Perform routine and specialized tests, including chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses.
- Sample Preparation and Handling - Collect, label, and prepare samples according to standard procedures and ensure proper storage and handling to prevent contamination or degradation.
- Equipment Operation - Handling Analytical Instruments Like, UV-Vis, HACH Meters & other analytical Instruments.
- Calibration - Performing Internal Calibrations of the various equipment used in the Lab.
- Perform Filters/Blocks testing as per international standards & other customer’s protocol.
- Document control (SOP’s and WI’s) and maintenance of logbooks for Analysis.
- Inventory and Supplies Management - Monitor lab supplies, reagents, and chemicals., request replenishments and maintain proper storage of Hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
- Collaboration and Communication - Work closely with team members, engineers, quality assurance, and other departments.
- Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience in lab environment or lab testing.
- Diploma/Certification in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred)
- Theoretical & Technical skills in Analytical Chemistry.
- Excellent Analytical, technical & interpersonal skills, resourceful and team player.
- Data driven & ability to work under tight deadlines and result orientated.
- Strong problem solving & analytical skills, excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to learn new technology, processes, and systems quickly.
- Working knowledge of MS Office & project management platform.
- Knowledge & Experience of water filtration systems / industry- an added advantage.
