Job summary

A food manufacturing company in Singapore is looking for reliable Kitchen Assistants to help in preparing high-quality sushi, salads, and bento meals. The role includes food prep, hygiene adherence, and assistance during peak production times. Candidates should have prior experience in food preparation, preferably with Japanese cuisine. The ability to work during weekends and public holidays is required. This position offers full-time, part-time, and weekend shifts.

Job description
  1. full-time (6 days a week / 9am to 6pm/must work during weekend & public holiday)
  2. part-time (at least 4 days a week / 9am to 3pm / $10 per hour)
  3. Weekends (both weekends every week / 8pm to 6pm / $10 per hour)

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistants to support our production team in the daily preparation of high-quality sushi, salads, and/or bento meals. The successful candidate will assist in food prep, assembly, and kitchen maintenance, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and portion control standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients
  • Assist in preparing sushi rice, rolling sushi, and assembling bento boxes
  • Portion and pack salads, proteins, and accompaniments accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment
  • Assist senior kitchen staff as needed during peak production hours
  • Record food wastage and receive goods from suppliers
Requirements
  • Prior experience in food preparation (Japanese cuisine, bento, or salad production preferred)
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
  • Able to stand for long hours and work in a cool/chilled environment
  • Punctual, hardworking, and able to follow instructions precisely
  • Willing to work even during public holidays
