Jurong Christian Church (JCC), a congregation of the Lutheran Church in Singapore, is inviting applications for the role of Pastor. We seek a spiritually mature and mission‑minded servant‑leader who will cast vision, shepherd the congregation and oversee the holistic spiritual development of our members.

Located in the west of Singapore, JCC is a vibrant, multi‑generational congregation committed to preaching Christ, building lives and reaching our community with the love of God. Rooted in the Lutheran tradition, we uphold the centrality of Word and Sacrament and are passionate about discipleship, outreach and intergenerational ministry.

Job Description

Vision and Leadership: Cast and implement the vision of the church alongside the church council and pastoral team; nurture a culture of spiritual growth, outreach and mission.

Word and Sacrament Ministry: Administer the Word and Sacraments in accordance with the Lutheran Church in Singapore traditions.

Christian Education and Discipleship: Conduct baptism and membership classes; design and deliver adult Christian education and lay leadership training.

Pastoral Care and Visitation: Provide pastoral care through home and hospital visits; especially support the sick, elderly and those in crisis.

Cell Group Ministry Oversight: Mentor all Cell Group leaders, especially in adult and senior adult ministries; support their spiritual well‑being and leadership growth.

Missional Engagement: Mobilise cell groups and the congregation to participate in outreach efforts through active pastoral involvement.

Job Requirements

A. General Responsibilities

• Preach regularly at Sunday worship services.
• Conduct baptism, confirmation and membership classes.
• Be open to additional duties as needed in cooperation with the council.

B. Education and Certification

• Bachelor of Divinity or Master of Divinity (or equivalent) from Trinity Theological College, Singapore Bible College, or an accredited Bible seminary or theological college.

C. Experience

• 2–3 years of secular working experience (preferred).
• 5–10 years of pastoral ministry experience.
• Strong in organisation, interpersonal communication and team‑building.
• Report writing and data presentation capabilities.

D. Competencies

• A compassionate shepherd’s heart with empathy and spiritual discernment.
• Able to manage conflict and handle setbacks constructively.
• Committed to servant‑leadership and relationships integrity.
• Sound understanding of pastoral and social issues affecting the church today.
