Job summary

A leading precious metals company in Singapore is seeking an experienced accountant to manage complete account functions and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3 years of financial reporting experience, preferably in the precious metals industry. The role offers the chance to enhance internal controls and support audits, while proficiency in relevant accounting software is a strong advantage.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the full set of accounts, including month-end and year-end closing.
  • Perform end-to-end accounting functions, including AP, AR, and general ledger activities.
  • Prepare and submit GST returns in compliance with IRAS regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records, including bank reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Prepare financial and management reports as required.
  • Support statutory audits by preparing audit schedules and required documentation.
Operational & Administrative Support
  • Assist with inventory accounting, including reconciliation and valuation (experience with precious metals inventory is an advantage).
  • Handle HR administrative functions, including payroll, IR8A / IR21 submissions, employment contracts, and leave management.
  • Provide administrative support including document organisation, vendor and bank onboarding, and responding to government notifications.
Compliance & Internal Controls
  • Support the company's designated Compliance Officer in ensuring adherence to the Precious Stones and Precious Metals (Prevention of Money Laundering) Act.
  • Assist with the enhancement of internal controls, accounting procedures, and workflow improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial reporting; experience in precious metals or commodity trading is preferred.
  • Competency in preparing consolidated financial statements is required.
  • Experience in GST reporting and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Xero is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stress effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Organised, meticulous, and able to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
