Job description

Our client is hiring an experienced Infrastructure engineer to join them on a 12 month contract

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management

• Drive the infrastructure project lifecycle from server provisioning through cutover.
• Work closely with infrastructure and application teams from requirements gathering to implementation.
• Review and analyze infrastructure architecture to identify gaps and improvement areas.
• Perform RHEL 8/9 OS patching and Linux administration tasks for cloud-based projects.
• Guide application teams in troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Linux administration and automation.

Operations & Process

• Prepare technical project plans for new initiatives within BAU operations.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to develop technical solutions and enhancements.
• Drive onboarding of new applications into the production production environment.

Security & Compliance

• Support the deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of infrastructure security in accordance with bank security directives.
• Implement administrative, preventive, detective, and reactive controls, including change and configuration management, patch management, anti-virus measures, and system security scans.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in infrastructure support and OS administration.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience supporting production applications in a banking environment.
• Hands‑on experience with RHEL 8/9 OS patching, administration, and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of MQ, Elasticsearch, and AWS is preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to drive meetings and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to work on a 24/7 rotating shift.
