Job Purpose
The HR Manager is responsible for leading all human resource functions to ensure effective recruitment, fair policies, accurate payroll, and strong staff engagement. This role is crucial for supporting business growth, maintaining compliance, and building a high-performance culture. The HR Manager is expected to be proactive and flexible, willing to take on new or additional HR-related tasks as needed.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Handle the full recruitment process: advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, hiring, and preparing contracts for all positions.
- Proactively source and recruit top talent, conduct interviews, negotiate and extend hiring offers, and secure candidate acceptance, ensuring fast and successful placements.
- Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring all documentation is complete.
- Maintain accurate staff records and personnel files.
2. Payroll, Compensation & Benefit
- Oversee monthly payroll, CPF, statutory contributions, and staff claims.
- Manage leave, MC, and benefits administration.
- Handle salary reviews, increments, and bonus calculations in line with company policy and management approval.
- Address payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Calculate commissions, incentives, bonuses, and salary adjustments using advanced Excel formulas and spreadsheets.
- Carefully check and verify payroll, commission, and claims calculations to spot out any mistakes or discrepancies before processing.
3. HR Policy, Compliance & Documentation
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies, handbook, and SOPs in line with Singapore Employment Act and MOM regulations.
- Ensure all HR documentation and practices meet statutory and audit requirements.
- Advise management and staff on HR policy and employment law.
4. Staff Relations & Retention
- Serve as the main point of contact for formal staff grievances, escalated disputes, and confidential feedback.
- Manage the full staff resignation and exit process, including conducting exit interviews and ensuring all offboarding requirements are met.
- Develop and implement clear career progression frameworks and pathways to support employee growth, motivation, and long-term retention.
5. Performance Management & Discipline
- Coordinate and administer annual staff performance evaluation
- Manage documentation of performancE reviews and improvement plans.
- Handle disciplinary actions, warnings, and termination processes according to company policy (based on written incident reports from Operations).
6. Training & Compliance
- Maintain training records and ensure all staff meet HR/compliance training requirements.
7. Leadership & Culture
- Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance work culture.
- Lead by example demonstrate professionalism, fairness, and integrity.
- Champion company values and encourage staff to uphold service standards.
- Act as the main point of contact for all HR matters.
- Proactively identify, recommend, and implement HR strategies to drive high performance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Willing to take on other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support business and operational needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role (HR, operations, or related functions).
- Strong knowledge of payroll, commission calculations, and local employment regulations.
- Experience with HR software/systems is an advantage.
- Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in HR management, preferably in retail or service industry, with a proven ability to lead HR strategies and support business growth.
- Sound knowledge of Singapore Employment Act, MOM, CPF, and payroll processes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous, well-organized, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to handle sensitive staff matters.
- Flexibility and willingness to handle additional tasks as required
