Established in 2014, IWC is a global supplier and trader of woodchips, sourcing approximately 4.5 million bone‑dry metric tonnes (over 9 million green metric tonnes) annually. We procure both hardwood and softwood chips from continents including Southeast Asia, Oceania, South America, North America, Europe, Africa, and provide feedstock chiefly to priority Asian pulp clients. Position Summary

We are seeking a highly capable and driven Head Woodchips Procurement to join our Integrated Woodchip Corporation (IWC) team.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing 3–5 key origination markets within the first three months, leading strategic woodchip procurement projects, and ensuring effective execution of both short- and long‑term supply contracts to secure woodchip feedstock for RGE Group Pulp mills. A strong trading mind‑set is essential to drive third‑party sales and manage supply risks in response to shifts in demand or market conditions.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial
  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies across key woodchip markets.
  • Drive both short term commercial strategy on pricing and spot purchases and mid to long term strategy on multiyear contracts and long term negotiations.
  • Drive strategy for own Vietnam project to increase volumes with strong focus on volume, quality, cost and financial performance.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of physical commodity trades, including origination, execution, operations, and risk management.
Stakeholder management
  • Lead, drive and coach global procurement and trading, project, quality and sustainability team, to deliver on volume, cost, quality, reliability and sustainability targets.
  • Effective communication with internal stakeholders and Senior Management team.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with external suppliers from diverse geographical locations and cultural backgrounds.
Quality and sustainability
  • Identify and qualify new vendors to meet quality and operational standards; maintain and update the counterparty’s database.
  • Drive continuous product quality improvement initiatives that create value for internal customers.
Project and Market intelligence
  • Evaluate and drive investment and M&A opportunities that support long-term supply security.
  • Lead the Market Intelligence and Strategic Planning teams in delivering high‑quality analysis on global woodchips S&D and supply value chain using trade data, external sources, and internal analytics.
  • Ensure regular production of market intelligence reports and provide recommendations based on in‑house view on short and long term market outlook.
  • Lead or contribute to ad hoc business improvement initiatives and internal capability‑building efforts.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in physical commodity trading with ownership of a trading P&L book.
  • Demonstrated experience in trading operations, risk management, market analysis, and logistics.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 3-4 people or more.
Education
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong performance track record across commercial and cross‑functional roles.
