A global investment firm is seeking a founding hire for its Private Equity Real Estate platform in Singapore. You will be responsible for defining the investment strategy and executing deals, while building key relationships with local developers and advisors. The ideal candidate should have 12-20 years of experience in buy-side real estate private equity and a strong track record in direct investments across Asia. This role reports directly to global leadership, offering a unique opportunity to shape the regional platform.

Job description

Our client is a US-based institutional investment platform with a strong global track record across alternative assets. As part of its Asia-Pacific expansion, the firm is establishing its first Private Equity Real Estate presence in Singapore. This is a founding hire, with direct reporting to global leadership and full responsibility for building the regional PERE platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first and accountable hire for the APAC PERE platform
• Define and execute regional real estate PE investment strategy in line with global mandates
• Lead end-to-end deal execution: origination, underwriting, structuring, IC presentations, and execution
• Build and manage local relationships with developers, sponsors, lenders, and advisors
• Represent APAC real estate investments at global IC and HQ level
• Establish operating frameworks, governance, and risk discipline from day one
• Build out the team and platform progressively as capital deployment scales

Experience

• 12–20+ years of experience in buy-side real estate private equity, principal investing, or institutional real assets
• Strong track record in direct investments across Asia (core / value-add / opportunistic depending on strategy fit)
• Demonstrated IC exposure and investment decision ownership
• Comfortable operating hands-on, especially in a lean or first-hire environment
• Prior experience working with global institutions or US / European HQs strongly preferred
