Our client, an impact-focused investment firm investing across healthcare, education, sustainable foods, climate, and energy transition, is hiring a seasoned Head of Operations to oversee all non-investment functions of the firm, ensuring operational excellence, financial discipline, and strong governance. This role will lead finance, HR, compliance, IT, corporate secretarial, and administrative operations, working closely across teams to enable the investment function to focus on deal-making and portfolio management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute operational strategy aligned with business goals.
- Oversee finance, HR, compliance, technology, and general operations in a cohesive structure.
- Drive operational efficiency and implement best-in-class processes and systems.
- Support fundraising with operational and financial insights.
- Manage fund administration, including capital accounts, calls, distributions, and financial statements.
- Liaise with fund administrators, auditors, and service providers; ensure accurate investor reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Limited Partnership Agreements and investor requirements.
- Lead internal valuation reviews and maintain robust governance processes.
- Supervise accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and tax compliance.
- Oversee HR functions including talent acquisition, performance, and culture initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain internal controls and risk frameworks.
- Oversee IT strategy, cybersecurity, data management, and workflow systems.
- Manage office administration, vendor contracts, and corporate records.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in operations, finance, or corporate services in venture capital/private equity firms.
- Proven leadership managing multiple functions and senior managers.
- Track record of scaling operations in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Strong financial literacy with ability to act on financial reports.
- Knowledge of HR practices, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Strong project management and process improvement skills.
- High EQ, people leadership, and experience influencing at partner/board level.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, commercially astute, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.
- Strong interpersonal skills and discretion with confidential information.
