About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead their financial planning function and provide critical insights that will drive business growth in their rapidly expanding data centre operations.

This senior leadership role will be instrumental in shaping financial strategy, optimizing capital deployment, and supporting executive decision‑making in a capital‑intensive, high‑growth environment.

This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is a member of the senior finance leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and long‑range forecasts aligned with corporate strategy
  • Drive the annual operating plan and quarterly forecast processes across all business units
  • Develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate new data centre developments, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities
  • Provide strategic recommendations on capacity planning, pricing strategy, and capital allocation decisions
  • Partner with senior leadership to establish financial targets and key performance indicators

Financial Analysis & Insights

  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial performance frameworks to monitor business and operational efficiency
  • Deliver actionable insights and data‑driven recommendations to the CEO, CFO, and executive team
  • Conduct in‑depth analysis of revenue streams, operating costs, and margin performance across multiple facilities
  • Analyze complex capital expenditure requirements including power infrastructure, cooling systems, and IT equipment
  • Monitor and analyze key operational metrics including power usage effectiveness (PUE), utilization rates, and customer concentration
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the data centre market and competitive landscape

Capital Planning & Funding Support

  • Partner with treasury and development teams to support project financing, capital allocation, and ROI assessments for new builds and expansions
  • Develop models to evaluate debt/equity financing scenarios and capital structure optimisation

Reporting & Controls

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting systems
  • Design and implement dashboards and reporting tools for real‑time visibility into business performance
  • Drive process improvements and automation in financial planning and reporting workflows
Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA/ CPA strongly preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience with at least 5 years in FP&A leadership roles
  • Experience in data centres, telecommunications, real estate, or other capital‑intensive infrastructure industries highly preferred
  • Proven track record of supporting high‑growth companies through scaling and transformation

Technical Skills

  • Expert‑level financial modelling, CapEx planning and analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning software (Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or similar)
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI) and ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow dynamics, and valuation methodologies
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting, project finance, and return on investment analysis

  • Exceptional strategic thinking with ability to translate data into actionable business insights
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to influence senior executives
  • Strong business acumen with deep understanding of operational drivers and market dynamics
