- Also known as: Head of Execution & Delivery
- Reports to: Founder / CTO
- Start: Planned start in ~6 weeks (currently collecting early interest)
About VALSEA
- VALSEA is building Southeast Asia’s speech understanding layer for accent-heavy, mixed-language, real-world speech. We support regional languages and accents including Singlish, Chinglish, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, and Thai.
- Our platform converts complex, mixed-language speech into accurate transcripts and structured, actionable outputs such as subtitles, meeting notes, automation workflows, and analytics.
- VALSEA enables creators, SMEs, and enterprises to understand and operationalize speech reliably, at scale, across languages.
- Powered by cutting-edge speech recognition and a proprietary semantic understanding layer, VALSEA achieves high accuracy by correcting misheard words, interpreting local slang, and extracting meaningful insights from real-world speech.
Why This Role Exists
- VALSEA is early-stage, engineering-led, and operating at founder speed.
-> The Founder/CTO sets the company’s direction and retains final ownership over:
- Vision and long-term strategy
- Product direction and what we choose to build
- Technical architecture and the quality bar
- This role exists to translate founder direction into execution cleanly, decisively, and on time, so progress does not depend on the founder personally driving every detail.
Role
- This is a full-time leadership role in scope, ownership, and expectations.
- This is a high-trust execution and delivery operator role.
- This role exists to turn direction into shipped outcomes, reliably and repeatedly. If we say something will ship on Sunday, it ships Sunday. If it will not, risks are surfaced early, tradeoffs are made explicitly, and commitments remain credible.
- You make the company run like an oiled engine without slowing it down.
- This is a high-agency execution operator role with real authority.
- This is not a coordinator role. This is not a passive project management role.
Mission
- Build and run the execution engine that takes VALSEA from:
What You Own (Core Responsibilities)
1) Execution Cadence and Delivery Reliability (Immediate)
- You install and run the core operating rhythm:
- One execution board as the single source of truth
- Weekly planning to lock priorities, owners, scope, and ship dates
- Daily 10-minute standups focused on blockers and status only
- Mid-week risk checks to surface issues early and cut scope fast
- Weekly ship reviews covering what shipped, what slipped, why, and corrective actions
Non-negotiable rule: nothing exists without an owner, a definition of done, and a delivery date.
2) Accountability and Follow-Through
- Translate founder goals into clear 4–6 week execution plans
- Assign DRIs for every workstream and deliverable
- Relentlessly follow up until work is completed
- Run difficult accountability conversations when needed
3) Prioritisation and Tradeoffs
- Make sequencing and scope decisions to protect delivery
- Stop low-leverage or distracting work
- Resolve conflicts between urgent and important work
- Enforce focus when everything feels critical
You decide how the company ships, aligned with founder direction.
- Work directly inside execution tools (Linear, Jira, Notion, GitHub visibility)
- Chase dependencies and unblock people
- Identify bottlenecks across people, process, and tooling
- Fix execution problems at the source
You stay close to reality.
As the company grows, you will:
- Create a clear ownership map across workstreams
- Install lightweight intake, QA, and release processes
- Help hire and onboard execution capacity (ops, PMs, leads)
Your goal is to make execution systemic, not heroic.
Culture & Fit
You’ll thrive here if you:
- Care deeply about building infrastructure for Southeast Asia
- Take pride in reliability, clarity, and truth
- Want to help build a category-defining company, not just “run ops”
This Role Will Not Be A Fit If:
- You mainly coordinate without owning outcomes
- You avoid conflict or accountability conversations
- You need perfect clarity before acting
- You rely on heavy process to feel in control
- You don’t want to work hands-on inside execution tools
Application & Engagement Structure
- This role is planned to start in ~6 weeks.
- We are currently collecting early expressions of interest and beginning conversations.
- We begin with a 30–90 day paid contract trial for one reason: execution roles only prove themselves in reality, not in interviews.
- During the trial, you will:
- Run the real execution cadence
- Own real delivery commitments
- Work directly with the founder and engineering team
- Be evaluated on shipping reliability, clarity, and follow-through
- If the fit is right, the role converts to permanent full-time with equity upside.
- This structure protects both sides:
- You see the real company, pace, and expectations
- We see how you operate under real constraints
- We are optimising for long-term fit and execution credibility, not short-term hiring optics.
