Employment law services are delivered globally to the Enterprise by Dyson’s Centre of Excellence for Employment Law, which currently comprises a senior lawyer based in the US, Singapore, and the Netherlands.

About the role

The Global Head of Employment Law is the functional leader of the CoE Employment Law, reporting to the Global Legal Director. The role will be based in Singapore and has management responsibility for the following activities:

  • Provision of strategic employment law advice to the Chief Legal Officer, the Chief People Officer, the Global Legal Director, and other senior executives.
  • Oversight of global standards, policies, and processes for the delivery of employment law services worldwide.
  • Delivery of operational employment law advice across the Enterprise.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Strategic
  • Work with the Global Legal Director to set the strategic direction for managing employment law risks across the Enterprise.
  • Develop and articulate a clear vision and development plan for the CoE Employment Law to meet strategic goals.
  • Drive and evaluate progress against these goals.
Operational
  • Design and implement the operating model for delivering employment law services.
  • Manage resources and prioritize services based on strategic value.
  • Deliver services efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Ensure quality and consistency, acting on stakeholder feedback.
  • Develop KPIs and metrics for effective decision-making.
  • Report operationally to senior stakeholders.
  • Promote collaboration within Dyson Legal teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Provide legal support on key projects in collaboration with the wider business.
Leadership and Talent Development
  • Drive team engagement and build a high-performance, fair, transparent, and honest team culture.
  • Identify and develop top talent.
  • Implement strategies for succession planning.
  • Manage performance, learning, and development effectively.
  • Plan budgets to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery, maximizing ROI.
About you
  • Minimum 12 years of employment law experience; in-house experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and its pragmatic application in a commercial environment.
  • Experience working on multi-jurisdictional matters across Asia and managing external counsel.
  • Interest in innovative legal service delivery, including legal tech.
  • Awareness of the legal function's role in a global business.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
  • Confidence and gravitas to challenge decisions when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
