Role Overview

To manage vessel utilization, space allocation, and cargo flow optimization across our network. This role plays a key part in aligning commercial demand with operational execution, ensuring efficient vessel loading, cost control, and service reliability, while also leading and developing a high-performing Cargo Flow team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor booking trends and cargo forecasts to optimize vessel load factors and space utilization.
  • Manage medium‑term space allocations and balance laden and empty container movements in line with equipment plans.
  • Coordinate cargo routing, loading instructions, and vessel optimization with Trade, Commercial, Operations, and Planning teams.
  • Analyze cargo flow, port performance, and daily loading reports to support operational and management decisions.
  • Proactively manage exceptions such as network disruptions, port omissions, and void sailings, implementing effective cargo recovery solutions.
  • Drive cost optimization through contingency planning and efficient operational responses.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Cargo Flow team, including daily supervision, training, performance reviews, and recruitment support.
  • Own and drive process improvements, system adaptations, and cross‑functional projects to enhance cargo flow efficiency and tools.
  • Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in the shipping industry.
  • Good command of MS Office tools, with high proficiency in Excel and a strong accuracy with figures.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under pressure.
