A leading oil and energy company in Singapore is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a senior role focused on team management within the Trading department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in oil trading and tanker operations, along with proficiency in both English and Japanese. This position emphasizes strong negotiation and communication skills, essential for building solid relationships with counterparties and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Manage the team to achieve flawless operation for the executed transactions by respective front desk in Trading department.
Lead the initiatives to deploy the best practices among global operation team to minimize any incremental cost through physical cargo operation.
Provide clear guidance to the team for the avoidance of any breach of contract, law regulation and company rules proactively.
Create and keep good business relationships with counterparties to conduct smooth and reliable operation.
Conduct smooth claim processing tasks relating to vessel operations, such as demurrage, freight deviation and transportation oil loss to minimize financial exposure in the Company, and sustain reliable relationships with counterparties.
Liaise with Trading Department to ensure that all the contractual obligations arising from cargo deals and charter parties are met.
Liaise with Finance & Administration Department to facilitate smooth invoicing and payment for freight and all the operational expenses.
Liaise with Headquarters (ENEOS Corporation in Japan)
Carry out other duties assigned by Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director as and when necessary
Bachelor or Master degree is preferable.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in oil trading / oil and gas industries, and least 3 years of relevant experience in tanker operation industries.
Have experience in both allocation planning of crude oil, petroleum & chemical products tanker and dealing with demurrage and claim for tanker.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Ability to communicate in fluent English to communicate with colleague and clients well.
Ability to speak and write in Japanese language is required to communicate with Japanese speaking associates and clients, and to report to headquarter managements in Japan.
Strong awareness on law compliance and internal control.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a strategic mind.
Meticulous with good communication and presentation skill.
An effective team player who is innovative and forward thinking.
