Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a self-driven and hands-on General Manager / Assistant GM (Marine Services) for a well-established marine engineering & services business that is based in Singapore to lead the company’s marine operations, service and commercial sales.

If you’re someone who has spent years building real skills on the ground — engines, generators, spares and service delivery and you’re ready to step up into a bigger leadership position, this is a rare opportunity to own a full function, lead a stable team, and make real impact.

Main Scope
  • Ship spares operations (high-volume, fast turnaround, customer-driven environment)
  • Engine sales support & technical advisory
  • After-sales service delivery, troubleshooting and customer escalations
  • Process improvement & systems enhancement to drive productivity and service standards
People Leadership

This is not just an operations role. You will be expected to lead, uplift and retain valuable team members in:

  • Driving performance and accountability through clear direction and coaching
  • Building a positive team culture that encourages ownership and pride in work
  • Motivating and develop engineers and coordinators to grow into stronger capabilities
  • Improving team stability and retention through strong ground leadership and engagement
Requirements

Strong engineering background with hands-on knowledge in:

  • 4-stroke marine engines, power generators auxiliary marine equipment / machinery
  • Proven leadership track record leading a sizeable team in a similar industry setting, preferably within marine engineering services, marine equipment distribution, ship spares, engine services, or related after-market environments.
  • High integrity and professionalism, trusted to represent the company.
  • Highly self-motivated, hands-on, and execution focused.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management — able to win trust and handle pressure.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high expectations environment
  • Grounded, practical and accountable leadership style
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working with systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Chinese-speaking is an advantage as this role will interface regularly with team that are based in China.
