Job summary

A high-end Japanese restaurant in Singapore is seeking Service Staff to deliver world-class hospitality. The role involves providing elegant front-of-house service, explaining seasonal menus, and maintaining high standards of dining. Ideal candidates will have fine dining experience, knowledge of Japanese cuisine, and excellent communication skills. Opportunities for training in Japan may also be available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fine dining restaurants, especially Japanese or Michelin-rated establishments.
  • Knowledge of Wagyu, sake, wine, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Fluent in English, and ability to communicate in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide seamless front-of-house service from guest welcome to farewell.
  • Explain seasonal course menus and serve wine, sake, and beverages.
  • Maintain professional demeanor, posture, and language at all times.
  • Assist international guests with attentive and culturally sensitive service.

✅ Key Responsibilities
  • Provide seamless front-of-house service from guest welcome to farewell
  • Explain seasonal course menus, Wagyu cuts, preparation methods, and ingredients
  • Serve wine, sake, and beverages with pairing recommendations
  • Maintain professional demeanor, posture, and language at all times
  • Set and maintain tables in accordance with fine dining standards
  • Assist international guests with attentive and culturally sensitive service
  • Respond promptly and gracefully to customer requests or complaints
  • Participate in pre-service briefings, service improvement discussions, and training
  • Maintain a clean and refined environment in accordance with hygiene and brand standards
✅ Requirements
  • Experience in fine dining restaurants, especially Japanese or Michelin-rated establishments
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, Wagyu, sake, wine, and seasonal ingredients
  • Sommelier or sake-related certifications (e.g., WSET, Sake Diploma) are a plus
  • Fluent in English. Ability to communicate in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage to liaise with Mandarin or Japanese speaking guests
  • Excellent communication and hospitality skills
  • Calm, composed, and graceful under pressure
  • High motivation to uphold the standards of a Michelin-level restaurant
  • Strong teamwork and cooperative attitude
✅ Working Conditions
  • Full-time position (shift-based)
  • 6 days a week, with every Sunday off, plus the 2nd and 4th Monday off.
  • Standing and active service throughout shifts
