Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated team player and experienced Finance Manager to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the organization's statutory reporting aspect of Hindu Endowments Board (HEB) and its subsidiaries for overall banking operation, investments, trust accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Reporting for non-temple operations
- Prepare and maintain all aspects of financial records, including but not restricted to Balance Sheets, Income Statements and General Ledger on a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as required.
Strategic Finance Management (investments,FDs, excess cash etc)
- Provide support to develop and manage annual budgets and monthly cash flow projections
- Oversee, monitoring and reporting of investment portfolios.
- Track and manage overall excess cash and prepare relevant reports and provide insights to management on the investment strategy
Corporate Insurance
- Oversee all insurance procurement processes, including policy renewal, negotiation and calling for quotations for new policy
- Claims processing
Banking operations
- Oversee banking operations, including relevant board resolution, account opening/closing, signatory management.
- Resolution of bank-related issues or discrepancies and ensure timely follow up.
- Ensure accounts are properly maintained and bank processes align with internal controls.
Trust Accounts
- Manage all trust accounts and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards.
- Assist in coordinating bursary disbursements to recipients
Audit Support
- Provide direct support for audit functions, including internal and external audits.
Administrative Support
- Schedule and coordinate key finance related meetings. Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with preferably 1-3 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards and Charity Standards (preferred).
- Knowledge of various financial, GST, and audit processes.
- Knowledge in basic management and accounting of investment products and services will be an added advantage.
- Able to converse in Tamil with the temple admin staffs and be willing to do work related site visits in the 4 temples managed by the Hindu Endowments Board.
