Job summary

A leading finance and accounting consultancy in Singapore is seeking a Finance Team Lead to oversee daily operations while managing the finance staff. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience and demonstrate strong leadership and analytical skills. They will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance, preparing reports, and conducting analyses. Knowledge of XERO accounting software and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting are preferred. This role provides opportunities for process improvement and cross-departmental collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in finance, at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with XERO and other accounting software preferred.
  • Track record of meeting objectives under strict deadlines.
  • Meticulousness and high accuracy required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with travelling to JB when required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely month-end closing and accurate preparation of financial reports.
  • Conduct monthly flux analysis on Profit & Loss and balance sheet.
  • Responsible for full sets of books for subsidiary companies.
  • Ensure timely preparation of Group Consolidation reports.
  • Work closely with HR for payroll payments.
  • Review and submit GST returns and annual tax filings.
  • Manage the Treasury function for cashflow planning.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls for accuracy.
  • Partner with department heads to improve work efficiency.
  • Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements.
  • Liaise with Corporate Secretary on compliance matters.
  • Develop and monitor financial analysis for decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of Finance staff

  • Reviewand submit quarterly GST returns by Accounts Executive and annual corporate tax filings.
  • Monitor and manage the Treasury function for smooth cashflow planning.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and prevent fraud.
  • Partner with department heads in cross-functional teams to execute initiatives and projects to improve work efficiency.
  • Preparing and analyzing consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing intercompany transactions.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, tax filings and audits.
  • Liaise with Corporate Secretary on statutory compliance matters and coordinate with external auditors to support annual audit requirements and regulatory filings.
  • Develop and monitor the financial analysis to support business decision making, including forecasting and budgeting planning.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and compliance across functions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or similar certification is a plus).
  • 8 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with XERO and other accounting software is preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering objectives in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines and consistently high standards.
  • Meticulousness with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable with travelling to JB when required.
