Job description
Roles & Responsibilities

The Finance & IT Director is a highly commercial position and is responsible for driving company’s overall financial agenda. The position is expected to lead both the strategic and operational aspect of business and drive the company’s financial strategy and planning.

The incumbent is expected to have clear and demonstrable experience of accounting & reporting (drive yearly budget, quarterly estimates, monthly closing, pricing, margins, cashflows, working capital improvement, audit and compliance agenda), business partnering (commercial and supply controlling and partnering), management (team, management team, stakeholders, Malaysia, Asian Region and its subsidiary).

The Finance Director also sits in the board of director of a local subsidiary and will carry out board governance role. Being a subsidiary of a company listed on Bursa Malaysia, the Finance Director is responsible for quarterly reporting to Malaysia for the purpose of Bursa Reporting.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
  • Support GM in driving the P&L, creating value and gaining market share, based on financial & business analysis.
  • Lead Financial strategy : drive and coordinate with all departments on yearly budget, quarterly estimates, monthly closing, integrated financial planning and aligned with Malaysia and Asia Region (P&L, R&O, Balance Sheet, ACF, Capex etc.).
  • Enhance business partnering to support business objectives : sales controlling (discount, trade terms, price increase, customer P&L etc.), marketing controlling (expense tracking, building business case etc.) and supply controlling (COGS, LOGS etc.).
  • Strengthen control environment : drive compliance and audit agenda (internal and external audit, risk management and crisis management). Oversee accounting and internal control policies, procedures and systems for proper accounting practices, control and services for both Singapore and its subsidiary.
  • Together with Head of IT, lead the development of IT roadmap to support business needs : drive projects, process automations and share updates as well as results.
  • Manage the team and stakeholders : Lead, coach and actively build the capabilities of the Finance and IT team, including oversight on subsidiary’s Finance Team. Work together with Malaysia Finance Team and Region to improve the shared service operations on services provided.
ARE YOU THE ONE?
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / CPA), with degree holder in Finance & Accounting discipline.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Min 10 years' finance and accounting experience in FMCG, in which at least 5 years at senior management level.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to deliver Finance strategy linked to the business strategy.
  • Strong business partnering experience, plus ability to deliver and handle change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ideally experience from the FMCG industry who are competent to manage the works with complexity arising from the channels diversity and products portfolio.
  • Ability to think strategically but also focus on tactical and operational issues
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to challenge effectively and drive a business for performance.
  • Competent to work with big data sets and translating results into meaningful analysis and incorporating into forecasts.
  • Technical knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and standards, including stock exchange requirements, company law, and International Finance Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Able to lead and inspire high performance teams, ensuring clear goals and objectives are set and organising work effectively
