Job summary

A financial consultancy firm is looking for a Finance Manager/Senior Finance Analyst to lead finance operations in Singapore and Malaysia. The ideal candidate will design finance structures, handle compliance with customs and tax regulations, and support day-to-day finance activities. Applicants should have substantial experience in International Trade, a relevant degree, and the ability to work independently in a lean setup. This role requires expertise in customs duties and indirect tax management.

Qualifications

Role Overview

We are seeking ahighly hands-on finance professionalwith a strongInternational Trade and cross-border tax backgroundto support data center–related operations acrossSingapore and Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently design and implementfinance and trade structuresfor Singapore and Malaysia operations.

  • Handleday-to-day finance operationson a hands-on basis (no existing team initially).

  • Establishimport / export workflowssupporting data center equipment and services.

International Trade & Tax

  • Managecustoms duties, tariffs, import/export taxes, GST/VAT, andwithholding taxmatters.

  • Overseeduty optimisation, tax incentives, and refund schemes(e.g. GST/VAT refunds).

  • Ensure compliance withSingapore and Malaysia customs and tax regulations.

  • Liaise directly with customs authorities, logistics providers, and freight forwarders.

Finance & Compliance

  • ManageAP/AR, cash flow, budgeting, and cost tracking.

  • Supportaudit, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting.

  • Work closely with legal, operations, and external advisors as required.

Requirements
  • Strong background in International Trade / Trade Finance / Indirect Tax.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Customs duties, tariffs, import/export tax

    • GST / VAT / sales tax

    • Tax refund mechanisms

  • Practical experience coveringSingapore and Malaysia(both jurisdictions required).

  • Experience supportinginfrastructure, data center, or capital equipment–heavy businessesis highly preferred.

  • Comfortable working in alean setupand building processes from scratch.

  • Able to operate independently with minimal supervision.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.

  • Professional accounting or tax qualification is a plus.
