Job description
About Us

Alibaba.com is the leading global B2B marketplace and a flagship business of Alibaba Group — one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world. We serve millions of buyers and suppliers across hundreds of thousands of product categories worldwide. Our mission is to make it easier to do business everywhere. We are looking for candidates that lead our team in Singapore, delivering comprehensive and effective collection and payment solutions for merchants of the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform. Oversee the business expansion while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements under the Singapore MAS. Simultaneously, cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with financial institutions to establish a stable and resilient payment infrastructure that underpins the sustainable growth of Alibaba.com.

Responsibilities
  1. Understand marketplace clients’ needs and, in combination with the cross-border payment market and business environment, support the design and delivery of compliant and efficient payment solutions under the Singapore Major Payment Institution (MPI) framework.
  2. Assist in the company’s day-to-day cross-border payment operations, including client onboarding (KYC/KYB), transaction processing, cross-border collections, fund settlements, handling funding anomalies, and customer issue resolution.
  3. Support the implementation of compliance and risk management processes, ensuring operations align with Payment Services Act (PSA) requirements and MAS Notices. Work closely with compliance and internal control teams to maintain robust AML/CFT practices.
  4. Coordinate with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and other regulators on reporting, audits, and regulatory updates under guidance from senior management.
  5. Support business cooperation, partner onboarding, and relationship management with payment institutions, acquiring partners, and international banks.
  6. Assist in preparing internal reports, data analysis, and operational documentation to improve efficiency and compliance within payment operations.
  7. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth operation and rollout of new payment solutions and process enhancements.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B cross-border payments, fintech, or financial services, with hands‑on experience in payment operations, reconciliation, or compliance coordination.
  2. Familiar with MAS regulatory requirements, including the Payment Services Act (PSA) and related AML/CFT obligations for payment institutions. Experience working in or with an MPI license entity in Singapore is a strong advantage.
  3. Good understanding of B2B cross‑border payment business models, transaction processes, and basic compliance and risk controls.
  4. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and coordination skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple operational tasks efficiently.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English (both written and spoken). Able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  6. Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable to regulatory or operational changes in a fast‑paced environment.
  7. Professional certifications in AML/CFT (e.g., CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) are an advantage but not mandatory.
