Job summary

A social healthcare provider in Singapore is seeking an Executive in Social Healthcare to provide support for seniors through befriending and buddying initiatives. Responsibilities include conducting outreach, engaging volunteers, and maintaining contact with seniors. The ideal candidate will have a diploma/degree in social sciences and experience in eldercare or community work. Executive, Social Healthcare – Befriending & Buddying (BnB)

Location: Active Ageing Centre (AAC)
Department: Social Healthcare

Working Hours: Mon – Fri Office Hours

Salary: $3000-$3500 (Depends on years of experience)

Job Scope:

  • Provide befriending and buddying support to seniors under the AAC model.

  • Conduct outreach activities such as door-knocking, needs assessment, and engagement sessions.

  • Assess and recruit seniors using approved screening tools and tier them accordingly.

  • Engage, support, and match volunteers for befriending and related activities.

  • Plan and support programmes and activities for seniors at home, off-site, or at the AAC.

  • Maintain regular contact with seniors, submit check-call reports, and document case information.

  • Work with community partners on pilots, projects, and collaborations.

  • Support value-add projects such as distributions, sponsorships, and referrals to mental health or functional programmes.

  • Handle basic administration, data entry, and reporting to meet funder requirements.

  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences (e.g. Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology) preferred.

  • At least 1 year of experience in eldercare, community work, or social service programmes.

  • Comfortable working with seniors, volunteers, and community partners.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual/dialect-speaking is a plus.

  • Strong documentation and administrative skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Willing to work evenings or weekends when required.
