A legal compliance organization in Singapore seeks a candidate passionate about legal work to support its Compliance department. The role involves assisting with applications, responding to inquiries, and conducting legal research. Candidates should have at least one year of experience in a law practice environment and a relevant degree or diploma. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. We are looking for a candidate with a keen interest in legal and compliance work to support the work of the Law Society’s Compliance department and other departments as required.
The successful candidate should be a paralegal or legal secretary who has experience working in a law practice environment or have other relevant legal experience and is willing to learn on the job.
The specific duties include providing legal support for and processing applications relating to the Compliance department’s work, including but not limited to the following:
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree (in any relevant discipline)/ Diploma in Law from a recognized university
· Experience in working in a law practice environment of at least 1 year
· Prior experience working in a law practice preferred
· Able to conduct legal research
· Experience with e-litigation preferred
· Strong command of English and writing and communication skills
· Able to multi-task and work independently within tight deadlines
· Attentive to details
· Self-motivated and resourceful
· A team player who demonstrates team spirit and collaboration with others
· Strong administrative and organizational skills and able to manage competing priorities effectively
· A positive attitude, adaptable to changes and open and wiling to learn
· A proactive attitude to take initiative on matters and has a sense of responsibility for the work given
· Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
