Executive Director, Head of Change Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Change Management to join the CIB Coverage COO team. This role is responsible for ensuring successful embedding of change initiatives across our ~$120m investment portfolio, covering the Client Lifecycle including Onboarding / KYC, Credit, Document & Contract Management. In addition, this role supports safe and effective implementation of global process change across Coverage processes and applications, driven by risk, regulatory or optimisation opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and continuously refine our Change Management approach and framework, ensuring a consistent and effective embedding of change that aligns to banks standards across Business Impact Analysis, training, communication, KPI & Metric measurement, and user feedback.
  • Foster and develop a high performing & diverse Change Management team capable of supporting change delivery across the global portfolio.
  • Develop a single ‘change pipeline view’ across Coverage to show change impacting each user group.
  • Drive economies of scale and cost efficiencies through centralising Change Management across the portfolio.
  • Develop strong senior stakeholder & change champion networks and effectively communicate across them to ensure awareness and support of upcoming change.
  • Drive focus on user adoption and value creation, ensuring metrics and feedback loops validate value delivery and identify refinements to realise intended value.
  • Own and refine the Change Risk Management framework, ensuring efficient, effective and timely Change Risk Assessments and Business Impact Assessments with active risk mitigation.
  • Establish and lead a Change Management Centre of Excellence to grow and develop a high performing global change management team.
  • Establish, lead and continually improve a Change Management Centre of Excellence to facilitate the growth and development of a high performing global change management team.

You need extensive proven experience of large scale Change Management, with expert communication skills and the ability to build trust-based relationships within the team and among stakeholders, including C-Suite, Business and Functional stakeholders, Chief Product Owners / Technology Leads & end users.

Responsibilities by Area
  • Business
    • Develop and implement change management strategies aligned with the bank's overall objectives.
    • Collaborate with senior management to define and prioritize change initiatives.
    • Ensure change initiatives align with the bank's strategic goals and demonstrate post-delivery value.
  • People & Talent
    • Lead and manage a team of Change Management professionals, providing guidance and support.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to equip employees with the necessary skills to adapt to change.
    • Foster a culture of change readiness and continuous improvement.
    • Create and foster a diverse and inclusive team and culture, championing psychological safety.
    • Identify and address talent gaps to ensure the right resources support the programme's success.
    • Contribute to process training and skills-building initiatives, including coaching colleagues to support Agile Ways of Working.
    • Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks and processes to identify, assess, and mitigate programme risks, including owning and refining the Client Coverage Change Risk Management process and framework.
    • Monitor and track risks and issues with timely resolution and escalation as needed.
    • Collaborate with Process Owners, Operational Risk and other 2nd Line teams to ensure active risk management and regulatory compliance.
    • Address risk and control weaknesses promptly and escalate through the relevant governance forums.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting into governance forums (eg. QPR, PgSC) in line with bank policies & standards.
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimise negative impacts on operations.
  • Governance
    • Establish efficient governance structures and processes in line with Enterprise Change Management standards.
    • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on progress and outcomes.
  • Regulatory & Business Conduct
    • Ensure the Programme adheres to relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and ethical standards and promote ethical conduct across the organisation.
    • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Demonstrate exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
    • Take personal responsibility for embedding high standards of ethics across Standard Chartered Bank.
