Purpose of Job

The Business Management team supports regional business leaders by building and maintaining an appropriate infrastructure model. The team spearheads new programs to enhance front office support and manages various financial and project initiatives. The Business Management Executive Director is responsible for performing the duties of business management for Capital Markets Asia Pacific.

Main Objectives
  • Support the Capital Markets business and associated activities in Singapore and in the region.
  • Build and maintain various key business management reports, including revenue and resources analysis as well as pipeline reports.
  • Lead and take charge of issues and stakeholders to collectively address them to an acceptable resolution and to completion.
  • Assist with the development of various global and regional strategy. Prepare management presentations / reports to global and regional heads.
  • Coordinate and deliver various global, regional and/or local initiatives in Singapore and across the region.
  • Identify, define and implement action plans to improve business efficiency and effectiveness within the group through innovation, rationalizing systems and processes.
  • Assist in the management of the relationship and delivery of services from the CIBC Infrastructure groups (Finance, IT, Operations, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal and Internal Audit).
  • Ensure that an effective and documented internal control structure is in place, reviewed and updated, as evidenced through the Policies and Procedures manual.
  • Track members of Singapore staff comply with global and regional policies.
  • Plan, scope, and coordinate process and respond to audit or/regulator requests, findings and reports.
  • Monitor allocation of all departmental expenses in order to provide accurate management reporting.
  • Develop, implement and maintain adequate Business Recovery Plans.
  • Take initiative in ensuring new, changes or updates to regulations are met in accordance with mandated timelines.
Skills / Knowledge Required
  • Bachelor Degree with more than 7 years relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of Capital Markets businesses
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills and can interact well with individuals at all levels.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work accurately to tight timetables
  • Self motivated and able to work with limited supervision
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
Preferred Background
  • CFA or CPA/CA qualifications would be advantageous
