A leading engineering firm located in Singapore is seeking an Engineering Practice Manager to lead a team of Systems, Infrastructure, and Specialty Engineers. This role involves driving engineering excellence, people development, and fostering innovation. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering lifecycle management, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills. The Engineering Practice Manager will lead a team of Systems, Infrastructure, and Specialty Engineers, ensuring excellence in engineering practices, people development, and knowledge sharing. This role balances engineering discipline with project delivery, fostering innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.
Support the Engineering leadership in defining and communicating the vision and direction for engineering initiatives.
Develop and maintain discipline practices, including processes, tools, and standards.
Ensure the sharing and capitalization of knowledge within the team and across the organization.
Contribute to discipline efficiency initiatives to enhance competitiveness and performance.
Promote the adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions.
Define and manage the engineering discipline cost model and optimize resource allocation.
Assess current and future skill requirements to align with project needs and industry trends.
Lead team development, career planning, and upskilling initiatives.
Conduct strategic workforce planning to meet project and business demands.
Implement strategies for workload forecasting, recruitment, and onboarding.
Foster collaboration with other engineering disciplines to define multi-discipline solutions.
Encourage a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.
Education:
Degree in Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
Postgraduate studies in Systems Engineering (desirable).
Experience:
10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering lifecycle management, including Requirements, Design, Integration, Verification, and Validation.
Proven experience in product and project development using iterative/agile methodologies.
5+ years of experience in managing and coaching engineering teams.
Experience working effectively in multi-discipline and multicultural environments.
Knowledge of Safety, Security, and Human Factors standards and practices.
Familiarity with Infrastructure and Network design processes.
Demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams and promote continuous improvement.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and change management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
