Job Description – Employment Bridging and Employer Engagement Manager (Full-time)
Daughters Of Tomorrow Limited Registered as a charity under the Charities Act of Singapore, Daughters Of Tomorrow complements and supports existing training and workforce-related agencies by connecting volunteers and community resources to enable each woman on an individual level.
By deep diving into the practical day-to-day constraints of these women, we offer hand-holding and individual coaching to help each woman reach regular and sustained employment.
Our clients are women aged 18 to 63 from low-income families (living on less than $1500 per capita per month), mostly living in government-subsidized rental flats, and facing multiple stressors in their families. Through sustained employment, women in our employment bridging program regain confidence in themselves and gain a social support network that helps them through their difficult times.
Employment Bridging and Employer Engagement Manager
About the Role
The Employment Bridging and Employer Engagement Manager is a key driver in ensuring that DOT has a healthy pipeline of engaged employers offering suitable and sustainable employment opportunities and that DOT’s clients are bridged into sustained employment.
This role is expected develop and implement strategies aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives to identify, seek out, engaged and sensitise employers in relevant sectors to offer sustained job opportunities for DOT clients.
This role also works closely with Employment Bridging team to develop and refine career coaching services to promote behavioural change in DOT clients towards job seeking. This role shall also work closely with Monitoring & Evaluation manager to review and refine implementation plans based on feedback and alignment with organisation goals.
As part of the management team, this role is also expected to represent DOT at events and engagement sessions, build partnerships, and support at board sub-committee meetings and take collective ownership for the successful management of the organisation.
Responsibilities Employer Engagement
• Expand and grow the employer partners base including outreach, participating in relevant industry talks, onboarding and sensitising of employers, in line with the organisation goals. This includes working closely with Programs and Operation, and Monitoring & Evaluation team to understand the demographics, needs and potential of DOT clients and developing strategy in engaging employer partners from relevant industries. • Lead advocacy efforts in DEI, living wage, Core & Stable Scheduling, career progression, empathetic work environment, job redesign and any other key directions according to organisation goals with employer partners • Manage relationships with key employer partners including providing timely and relevant support for their DOT hires, conflict management, building long-term partnerships etc • Monitor and keep abreast of changes in employment landscape including understanding growth and sunset sectors/job roles, regulatory requirements, government schemes etc • Plan and execute annual Employer Awards event, job fair if required • Lead the participation in national job fairs and other outreach activities
Employment Bridging
• Develop and lead the execution of career coaching efforts for DOT clients accordingly to organisation goal and refine the scope where necessary for new addressable clients base • Develop, refine, drive and grow DOT’s Train-and-Place efforts to support the bridging efforts in growth industries that are accessible to DOT clients • Drive employment bridging efforts with the team to ensure that clients are well supported and followed through, including aspects of case management and providing additional support where necessary and working with other departments, social workers or befrienders to provide necessary support • Manage the end-to-end process of employment bridging to ensure efficiency and the meeting of clients’ needs from career coaching, preparing of resumes, interview, placement, retention, negotiation, mediation and conflict management • Oversee and manage post-employment support with the team and takes charge of conflict management between employers and candidates employed where necessary Social Mobility • Work closely with Program Development and Incubator team in setting up SOPs for Social Mobility schemes and ensuring proper execution • Oversee, manage and drive the team’s success for DOT’s social mobility schemes, providing insights for pilot schemes • Manage and approve any outgoing expenses for client-related training, financial support etc, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements
General/Management
• Responsible for the team’s growth and performance, building capabilities in Employer Engagement, Employment Bridging and Social Mobility programs • Oversee the performance reviews, training and upskilling of existing staff within the team in order that they would be able to fulfil their roles outlined in their job descriptions • Responsible for reporting including funded projects reporting • Analyse data provided by Monitoring & Evaluation to refine and pivot existing work to meet changing needs • Highlight new or changing operational needs that require manpower, budgetary and strategic provisions to Executive Director • Manage team’s expense budget and identify any potential significant deviations to the Executive Director • Support funder management as required by Fundraising team • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with the team internally and relevant external stakeholders to help achieve the goals of the organization • Support Executive Director in reporting to Program and Impact Committee (Board sub committee) where necessary • Lead in DOT annual events/activities
Qualifications
• Singaporean • Degree in HRM, social work or at least 5 years of relevant work experience in talent acquisition/learning and development or career advisory services is preferred Preferred Skills and Competencies • Passion to work in social service • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, emails, Canva and Google Suite • Strong spoken and written communication and presentation skills • Knowledge in Singapore’s employment laws and regulations preferred • Conflict management skills would be advantageous • Strong team player
