EdTech Development Specialist, AICET, NUS (1-year Contract; Renewable)

The EdTech Development Specialist will help shape how technology – especially generative AI – transforms teaching and learning at NUS and beyond. The role blends educational insight, human‑centred innovation, and strategic problem‑solving to develop new approaches to learning in the age of AI.

Job Description
  • Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to diagnose teaching and learning challenges, then develop and test technology or AI‑enhanced solutions to address specific pedagogical needs.
  • Investigate how learners engage with technology and generative AI such as LLMs, and develop targeted tools and learning interventions to improve the quality and effectiveness of their use.
  • Work with the AICET ScholAIstic (https://scholaistic.com) team and other in‑house product teams to manage products and support development of the next generation of AI‑powered educational tools.
  • Engineer sophisticated AI prompts and workflows for complex, multi‑step learning, feedback and assessment tools.
  • Pilot experimental learning activities/assessments with students, collect feedback and data, and evaluate their pedagogical impact.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders across AICET, NUS and external partner institutions to align pedagogical objectives, technical design and project delivery.
  • Develop training resources and conduct sharing sessions to build capacity within NUS and the wider education community for the effective use of AI in teaching, learning and research.
  • Lead research projects on the NUS community’s needs and practices, synthesise findings and generate insights that guide AICET’s future initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Learning Sciences, Cognitive Science (with a focus on learning/development) or a related discipline; OR a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with relevant pedagogical experience
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an advantage.
  • Candidates should have substantial demonstrable experience in at least two of: teaching, educational research, educational product development, or learning design.
  • Experience with learning analytics or user data analysis will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and logically
  • Strong interpersonal, project management, and organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Intellectual curiosity and openness to learning across diverse disciplinary and technical domains
