Job description

As a DTP Artist at Dezign Format, you play a crucial role in bridging creative intent and production accuracy. Working within our design-and-build workflow, you ensure that all graphic assets are technically sound, accurately prepared, and ready for fabrication across exhibitions, events, retail environments, and experiential installations.

Your work ensures that what is designed can be produced cleanly, correctly, and on time.

Responsibilities

Artwork Production & Layout

• Prepare, adapt, and finalise artwork for large-format prints, signage, environmental graphics, wayfinding, and experiential installations.
• Convert creative designs into print-ready files with accurate scaling, bleed, crop marks, and specifications.

Technical Checks & Pre-Press

• Conduct thorough pre-press checks, including colour mode, resolution, font outlining, overprints, and file integrity.
• Optimise artwork files according to substrates, printing techniques, and fabrication methods.
• Troubleshoot artwork issues and propose technical solutions to designers and production teams.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with 3D designers, graphic designers, draftsmen, and project managers to ensure alignment between design intent and technical execution.
• Assist production teams with accurate file exports, scaling, and templating.
• Support the creative team with artwork resizing, adaptations, and layout refinements when required.

Quality Assurance

• Uphold high visual and technical standards across all deliverables.
• Ensure all artwork files are clean, organised, clearly labelled, and properly version-controlled for smooth handover.

Requirements

Experience & Background

• 2–4 years of experience in DTP, pre-press, or production art.
• Experience in large-format print production and signage is a strong advantage.
• Prior exposure to spatial, exhibition, event, or retail environments is preferred.

Skills & Tools

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
• Strong understanding of large-format printing, substrates (vinyl, fabric, acrylic, PVC, etc.), and cutting/finishing methods.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply accurate scaling and measurements.
• Strong eye for colour and ability to assess physical colour samples for print consistency.

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to work under tight timelines without compromising accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership over assigned tasks.
