Job summary

An international IT services provider in Singapore is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide deskside and technical support for PCs, servers, and networks. The role involves troubleshooting hardware issues, configuring systems, and working in a data center environment. Candidates should have hands-on experience in IT support, knowledge of Active Directory, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Flexibility for after-hours work is required.

Job Description

Handle IT related tasks from Server to Network to PC Client (notebook & Desktop) including PC and peripheral setups, parts replacement, pre-installed baseline configuration & OS patching,

This job fills up the role as a deskside and technical support for PC, Servers, and Network break/fix, mostly hardware for network and servers and simple troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include monitoring, diagnosing network Lan point, data backup and restoration, handling of users’ ad-hoc requests and troubleshooting of networks in a data-center. Escort vendor to data center for hardware replacement. You may be required to lay cables between racks and install/rack servers and network devices. Unmount decommission devices for disposal. Rack new hardware.

Basic knowledge of Server and Network.

Strong in Microsoft apps, Office2019, Windows 10/11, Internet Brower & Proxy.

Knowledge in Active Directory, Domain, SCCM, BeyondTrust , Bitlocker, Antivirus, Wlan, Crashplan, Webex, Collaboration tools, Global Protect VPN, Entrust, MDM for mobile.

Datacenter environment which includes UPS, EMS/SMS, Telco links.

Office IT facilities including television, projector, copier, ip phone

Liaison with regional and global teams.

Support locations in Singapore (Office, Co-location, Product Distribution Centers).

Provide user IT needs, remotely (outside of Singapore).

May required to work beyond office and outside hours, such as for shutdown infrastructure for yearly building power maintenance.

Job Requirements

· Experience & Knowledge:

  • Hands-on experience in deskside support and technical support for PCs, servers, and network devices.
  • Ability to handle hardware troubleshooting and break/fix tasks, especially for servers and network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with data center operations, including rack mounting/unmounting, cabling, and vendor coordination.
  • Knowledge of network LAN troubleshooting, data backup/restoration, and basic server and network fundamentals.

· Technical Tasks:

  • Setup and configuration of PCs, peripherals, and servers.
  • Pre-installation of baseline configurations and OS patching.
  • Escorting vendors into secure areas like data centers.
  • Cable laying, racking/unracking, and decommissioning of hardware.
  • Supporting remote users outside of Singapore.

· Tools & Technologies:

  • Operating Systems: Windows 10/11, Office 2019.
  • Networking: LAN/WLAN, proxy, Telco links.
  • IT Management: Active Directory, SCCM, BitLocker, BeyondTrust, Antivirus, CrashPlan, MDM, GlobalProtect VPN, Entrust.
  • Collaboration Tools: Webex, other collaboration platforms.
  • Office IT Equipment: Television, projector, copier, IP phones.
  • Data Center Infrastructure: UPS, EMS/SMS systems.

· Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to work beyond office hours, including support during annual power maintenance shutdowns.
  • Able to liaise with regional and global IT teams.
  • Support across multiple sites in Singapore (office, co-location, distribution centers).
Skills and Competencies

· Technical Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of PC hardware, networking basics, and server components.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office apps and Windows OS administration.
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT tools like Active Directory, SCCM, and endpoint protection.

· Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:

  • Ability to perform first-level and second-level support for hardware and software issues.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, especially in identifying issues related to network, PC, and servers.

· Communication & Coordination:

  • Ability to work effectively with regional/global IT teams and external vendors.
  • Good communication skills to manage user requests, document incidents, and follow escalation protocols.

· Adaptability & Flexibility:

  • Comfortable working in data center environments.
  • Open to after-hours or weekend work when required for infrastructure maintenance or emergencies.

· Teamwork & Independence:

  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Responsible and self-motivated with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
