Job Summary
The Deputy Editor, FAS Digital will oversee the digital platforms of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and the Singapore Premier League (SPL), ensuring content accuracy, relevance, and timely updates.
This is an Assistant Manager/ Manager level role that includes managing website operations and improvements, coordinating with vendors, supporting content governance, and serving as deputy editor to ensure alignment with FAS and SPL editorial standards across all communications platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Platform Management
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day maintenance of FAS digital platforms, including the official website.
- Liaise with appointed vendors to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve website-related issues and enhancements.
- Ensure fixtures, results, statistics, and competition-related information are accurately and promptly updated - including amateur competitions.
Editorial & Content
- Serve as Deputy Editor for digital content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in alignment with FAS' editorial standards.
- Review, proofread, and approve content prior to publication across web and digital channels.
- Plan and maintain a content calendar for key updates across national teams, competitions, and corporate initiatives.
- Ensure all website content is relevant, engaging, and up-to-date, taking the lead on housekeeping and content audits.
Stakeholder communications support
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure messaging and updates are consistent and timely.
- Support the Marketing & Communications team with digital execution of campaigns, press releases, and announcements.
- Track website performance and user engagement analytics; recommend improvements to enhance audience experience.
General
Support departmental operations and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Marketing & Communications.
Requirements
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in digital content management, editorial roles, or digital communications (sports or newsroom experience is an advantage).
- Proven experience managing websites, CMS operations, and coordinating vendors or technical teams.
- Strong editorial background with experience reviewing, editing, and approving digital content.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong editorial judgement.
- Proficient in content management systems (e.g., WordPress or similar) and comfortable managing site updates.
- Good understanding of digital best practices, UX, SEO fundamentals, and content governance.
- Strong organisational abilities to manage content calendars, audits, and platform maintenance.
- Ability to interpret website analytics and recommend improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings or weekends, especially during major tournaments.
