Dental Surgery Assistant / Dental Assistant [Gov Setting]

Job Purpose: As a Dental Surgery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dental specialists by providing chair-side assistance during dental treatments and ensuring smooth clinical operations in accordance with hospital policies and dental care standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide four-handed chair-side assistance to dental specialists across various disciplines.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and materials for each appointment.
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and workplace safety regulations.
• Clean, sterilize, sort, and pack dental instruments efficiently in the sterilization area.
• Manage inventory within assigned dental operatories and assist with stock ordering.
• Assist in scheduling and managing patient appointments.
• Collaborate with clinicians and healthcare teams to ensure seamless dental care delivery.

Others

• Participate in service quality improvement initiatives.
• Coach and mentor junior staff in dental assisting techniques.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Clinic Supervisor or Manager.

Job Requirements

• Minimum NITEC Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent
• Preferably with 1 year of relevant work experience
• Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
