Job summary

A counseling service organization in Singapore seeks a counselor to provide case management and mental health training for Madrasah students and their community. The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree and has 2-3 years of experience working with youth aged 7-19. Role Description

Counselling and case management of Madrasah students (clients). Training on mental health for the madrasah population (staff, students, and parents)

Responsibilities/Key Tasks
  • Provide assessment, evaluation, and follow-ups onrasah students (clients), including data collection.
  • Provide counselling and case management to Madrasah students (clients).
  • Develop individualized case formulations and interventions (psychotherapy/counselling) for clients.
  • Engage in crisis intervention.
  • Provide referrals for clients as needed.
  • Liaise with government agency, social service agencies, and healthcare institutes.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (i.e. funders, Madrasah key personnel, and parents) in relation to clients (students).
  • Design and conduct mental health related support group for support group/talks for students.
  • Design and conduct mental health‑related talks for teachers and parents in relation to students’ mental health and well‑being.
  • Provide timely submission of reports, case notes, and other documentation on clients.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer.
Qualifications
  • Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling or Psychology from recognised universities.
  • Internship component (in a mental health or school setting).
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant counselling experience (preferably with clients aged 7–19 years old).
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
The following would be advantageous
  • At least a Certificate in Islamic Studies.
