A recruitment agency is looking for a Cost Accountant to conduct financial analyses and reporting in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Accountancy, at least 3 years of relevant cost accounting experience, and strong skills in SAP. Responsibilities include analyzing profit margins, managing costing issues, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position offers a competitive salary of up to $5.5K monthly, with a 5-day work week in Singapore.
Conduct costing analysis and identify opportunities to improve profit margins across business units
Analyze variances between actual, standard, and budgeted costs on a monthly basis
Manage and monitor costing issues, providing accurate variance analysis and recommendations
Generate periodic reports for management, presenting key insights on product costing, profitability, and cost drivers
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including group-level reporting packs
Coordinate with relevant departments to prepare budgets and financial forecasts
Maintain effective collaboration with business partners and finance teams to support reporting and information flow
Undertake other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned
Degree in Accountancy or a relevant professional accounting certification
At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in SAP is strongly preferred
Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing workflows
Assist the Manager in accounting functions.
Maintain full sets of accounts for the company.
Closing of month-end accounts and produce monthly financial statements.
Closing of year-end accounts and ensure smooth-running of regular auditing.
Control and handle petty cash; ensure cash on hand is tie with the book.
Handle all accounts receivable record-keeping and produce monthly accounting reports.
Upkeep all payable transactions, prepare payment vouchers and produce monthly creditors accounting reports.
Maintain detailed, perpetual inventory records and produce periodic reports.
Update billings and costs on individual job and prepare job status reports.
Handle other accounting matters such as chasing for payment, verifying expense statements, liaising with external auditors on taxation matters and etc.
Provide necessary information / reports to Japan Head Quarter.
Promptly submission of GST returns and tax report, etc.
Liaise with bankers, external auditors and tax agent, etc.
Handle subsidiaries’ accounts.
Ensure compliance of all accounting policies and procedures.
Maintain good housekeeping in the accounts department.
Diploma in Accounting or Bachelor in Accountancy
Min 4-5 years of relevant workng experience
Preferably someone from manufacturing industry
Software : ACCPAC is a plus
