Job summary

A healthcare provider in Singapore seeks a Service Assistant to support meal operations and quality assurance. The role involves generating meal reports, ensuring food quality standards, and assisting in meal coordination with various departments. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications in food service and strong communication skills. Basic Food Hygiene certification is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum GCE 'N' Level / 'O' Level / Nitec with 4-6 years of relevant experience, or Fresh Diploma graduate.
  • 2-3 years of related experience at a supervisory level, preferably in a hospital or high-volume food service facility.
  • Basic Food Hygiene certification required.
  • Ability to write, speak, and read English proficiently; fluency in a second language is advantageous.
  • Ability to understand and read diet chits and eMOS system.

Responsibilities

Job description

Job Purpose

The incumbent would be assisting the Supervisor in the Control Room in operations and any matters related to patients’ meals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

  1. Generate patient’s meal chits and meal summary report from eMOS for kitchen preparation

  2. Inspect meals prepared by the kitchen team to ensure food quality, therapeutic specifications and hygiene standards

  3. Handle enquiries or feedback and provide follow-ups

  4. Assist in coordination with dietetics, speech therapists, and nursing on meal requirements

  5. Liaise with kitchen team to prepare special therapeutic diets

  6. Perform inpatient meal sensory evaluation and other quality improvement projects

  7. Follow all instructions given by Supervisor.

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)

  1. Participate in improvement initiatives and projects assigned by the Supervisor

  2. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Specification/Requirements

  1. Minimum GCE 'N' Level / 'O' Level / Nitec with 4-6 years of relevant experience, or Fresh Diploma graduate.

  1. Experience: 2-3 years of related experience at a supervisory level, preferably in a hospital, upscale hotel, restaurant, or high-volume food service facility.

  1. Basic Food Hygiene certification required.

  1. Language Skills: Ability to write, speak, and read English proficiently. Fluency in a second language is advantageous.

  1. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  1. Technical Knowledge: Ability to understand and read diet chits and eMOS system

  1. Soft Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills.
