Job Purpose

The Control and Instrumentation Engineer (C&I) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless design, programming, integration, and operation of BMS solutions. This role is responsible for translating project specifications into efficient, reliable, and sustainable systems that optimize building operations. By preparing and reviewing detailed technical drawings, developing robust control logic, and integrating advanced technologies, the C&I Engineer contributes to the effective monitoring and control of critical building functions such as HVAC, lighting, and energy management.

The C&I Engineer ensures system performance and reliability by overseeing installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting, while fostering collaboration among stakeholders and delivering solutions aligned with client needs and industry standards. This position supports the organization’s commitment to innovation, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and Documentation:

  • Review, analyze, and prepare detailed C&I drawings, including PLC panel layouts, network architecture, and wiring diagrams.

  • Ensure all designs comply with project specifications and industry standards.

2. Programming and Control Logic Development:

  • Program BMS devices, including PLCs and controllers, using industry-standard programming tools.

  • Develop, test, and validate control logic and sequences for various BMS operations.

3. System Integration:

  • Integrate BMS systems with other building systems like HVAC, lighting, and fire safety.

  • Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and Profibus.

4. Installation and Commissioning:

  • Supervise the installation of BMS hardware and ensure compliance with approved designs.

  • Commission BMS systems, ensuring seamless operation and performance optimization.

5. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues in hardware, software, and network communications.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support to ensure system reliability.

6. Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project timelines.

  • Provide technical support and training to clients and end-users.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Educational Background:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Control Systems Engineering.

2. Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting BMS drawings and PLC wiring diagrams.

  • Hands‑on experience with programming tools for PLCs and controllers (e.g., Siemens, Schneider).

  • Strong understanding of control logic and BMS protocols.

3. Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in BMS engineering or related fields.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor or industrial environments is a plus.

4. Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

5. Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certifications in BMS or PLC programming (e.g., Siemens STEP 7, Schneider EcoStruxure).

6. Good interpersonal skills and communication skills & Cooperative
