Job Purpose
The Construction Manager (Electrical) will lead the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning phases of our EPC/EPCM projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical works—ranging from HT power distribution to ELV systems—are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict accordance with Singapore’s standards (CP5, SS638, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Oversight & Execution
- Supervise the installation of HT (22kV/6.6kV) switchgear, transformers, and cabling.
- Manage LT (Low Tension) distribution boards, sub-main cables, and final circuit installations.
- Oversee ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems integration, including CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, BMS, and Public Address systems.
- Review and approve Method Statements (MOS), Shop Drawings, and Material Submissions.
2. Project Management & Coordination
- Develop and monitor detailed electrical work schedules; ensure progress aligns with the Master Construction Programme.
- Coordinate seamlessly with civil, structural, and piping teams to resolve inter-disciplinary clashes (e.g., cable tray routing vs. HVAC ducting).
- Manage sub-contractors' performance, ensuring manpower levels and quality of workmanship meet project requirements.
3. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all electrical works comply with EMA (Energy Market Authority) regulations and PUB/SPPG requirements.
- Lead site safety briefings; ensure all electrical activities (especially high-risk HT testing) adhere to the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act.
- Facilitate inspections with Licensed Electrical Workers (LEW), consultants, and relevant authorities.
4. Testing & Commissioning (T&C)
- Lead the T&C phase, including insulation tests, secondary injection tests for HT, and functional logic tests for ELV systems.
- Manage the "Handover" process, including the preparation of As-Built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals (OMM).
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (recognized by PEB Singapore is an advantage).
- Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in M&E construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role on large-scale EPC/EPCM projects (e.g., Data Centres, Industrial Plants, or Infrastructure).
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of HT/LT/ELV systems.
- Familiarity with Singapore Standards (SS 638, SS 555, CP 5).
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, "boots-on-the-ground" problem-solving attitude and excellent communication skills for stakeholder management.
- Further Training:Managing WAH, Bizsafe L2, CSCPM
- Mobility: As when needed
