Community Growth Coordinator (1-year Contract)

THKMC was incorporated on 13 October 2011 as a charity to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large, and achieved an Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 18 November 2011. THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors' Community, and Therapy.

We are seeking a proactive Community Growth Coordinator to join our Early Intervention for Children Services team on a 1-year contract. The Community Growth Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the growth of our caregiver empowerment portal, the Empowered Learning coMmunity (ELM).

The role combines community engagement, content creation with marketing coordination, ensuring that caregivers have access to relevant, engaging resources and are kept updated about the portal through clear and consistent communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, responding to comments, messages and enquiries.
  • Build and grow a community of caregivers:
    • Develop and implement engagement strategies: Align community initiatives with overall programme objectives.
    • Manage online communities: oversee forums
    • Organise events: Plan both online and offline events that connect community members.
  • Create engaging content: Foster discussions and participation among community members.
  • Build community relationships: Identify and support key influencers and advocates.
  • Monitor metrics: Analyse community engagement to guide future strategies.
Content Creation and Management
  • Develop high-quality, accessible, and practical content for caregivers (e.g., activity kits, tip sheets, short articles, infographics) aligned with ELM's objectives.
  • Work with subject matter experts (therapists, social workers, psychologists, teachers) to adapt technical knowledge into caregiver-friendly materials.
  • Manage the content calendar to ensure timely updates and uploads onto the portal.
  • Review and refresh existing content to maintain accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
Content Editing and Quality Assurance
  • Proofread and edit submitted materials for accuracy, flow, readability, and consistency with ELM branding.
  • Ensure content aligns with developmental and educational guidelines set by the Early Intervention team.
  • Coordinate dissemination of marketing materials across different caregiver touchpoints (Taidii, WhatsApp, email, posters, centre displays).
  • Draft caregiver-facing messages and updates in a warm, supportive tone.
  • Support preparation of visual assets (using Canva or similar tools) for awareness campaigns.
  • Track caregiver engagement metrics (e.g., open rates, click-throughs, sign-ups) and report basic trends to the project manager.
Administrative & Coordination Support
  • Maintain a repository of content and marketing resources for internal use.
  • Support staff training by preparing handouts and reference guides on how to introduce ELM to caregivers.
  • Assist with gathering and organising caregiver feedback to inform improvements.
System Operations Support
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the ELM team and vendors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the ELM team and caregivers for any portal-related issues. Monitor and troubleshoot technical or user issues that arise on the ELM portal (e.g., login, payment, or content access problems).
  • Coordinate with the vendor to track issue resolution, test fixes, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Document and elevate recurring issues or bugs to relevant parties for system improvement.
Qualifications
  • Degree in communications, social sciences, education, or a related field.
  • Diploma holders with 2-3 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for caregiver use.
  • Familiarity with Canva or other content design tools.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable using digital platforms, with basic knowledge of email/WhatsApp marketing tools preferred.
  • Experience in the social service or education sector is advantageous but not required.
