About the Role

As a Communications Manager in our Institutional Communications team, you will support and deliver strategic communication programs that build and protect ANZ’s reputation.

Partnering closely with the Senior Manager, Business Communication, you will implement strategic communications plans that support ANZ’s business priorities, engage audiences, and foster a culture aligned with ANZ’s values and behaviours.

What will your day look like?
  • Building and protecting ANZ’s reputation.
  • Developing and implementing strategic communications plans that support Institutional business objectives.
  • Advising leadership teams on effective communication strategies to engage internal and external audiences.
  • Partnering with senior leaders to deliver open, transparent, and two-way communication that builds trust and alignment with team objectives and values.
  • Creating content to support strategic initiatives and organisational changes, including internal communications and leadership messaging.
  • Writing, editing and reviewing communication materials to ensure they reflect agreed key messages, align with ANZ’s style and tone, maintain the speaker’s voice, and meet plain-English standards.
  • Supporting Institutional communication programs and channels, including events, publications, and internal social media.
  • Collaborating with Institutional and Group Communications teams to deliver best-in-class proactive and reactive campaigns, including media relations aligned with strategic priorities.
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Professional Communication, Public Relations, or a relevant Arts discipline.
  • Additional qualifications in Business are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing communication strategies for diverse audiences.
  • Proven professional writing expertise, with a strong ability to tailor content to suit different audience needs.
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives and organisational change through effective communication.
  • Familiarity with media relations and campaign development, including proactive and reactive communications.
  • Experience working with and supporting senior executives and leadership teams.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively.
  • Excellent storytelling ability—crafting compelling, factual narratives that combine data, visuals, and context.
  • Skilled in synthesising complex information and integrating insights from multiple sources.
  • Active listening skills, with a demonstrated ability to seek and incorporate feedback.
